As part of the ‘Laser-based micromaterial processing’ theme week at LEF 2021, our application manager Thomas will be presenting how to create microscopically small geometries with an ultrashort pulse laser on 14 June in Brick 1.
On the one hand, the colleague will explain which parameters need to be adjusted in order to realise 100 holes with a diameter of just 3 µm per second.
He will also explain how a laser beam with a spot diameter of 10 µm can structure tiny, 5 µm wide cavities in a stainless steel surface. Sounds impossible? But it's not.
LEF stands for „Laser in der Elektronikproduktion & Feinwerktechnik“ and is a series of lectures organised by the Bavarian Laser Centre, which is taking place for the 24th time this year. The series consists of three themed weeks in which a series of specialist lectures are held from Monday to Thursday in the form of so-called ‘bricks’.
