As part of the “Laser-based micromaterial processing” theme week at LEF 2021, our application manager Thomas will be presenting how to create microscopically small geometries with an ultrashort pulse laser on June 14 in Brick 1.
On the one hand, the colleague will explain which parameters need to be adjusted in order to drill 100 holes with a diameter of just 3 µm per second.
It also explains, among other things, how a laser beam with a spot diameter of 10 µm can structure tiny 5 µm wide trenches in a stainless steel surface. Sounds impossible? But it’s not.
LEF stands for “Lasers in Electronics Production & Precision Engineering” and is a series of lectures organized by the Bavarian Laser Center, which is taking place for the 24th time this year. The series consists of three themed weeks, in which a series of specialist lectures are held from Monday to Thursday in the form of so-called “bricks”.
